Mavericks Beat the Americans 4-0

(INDEPENDENCE, MO):   After a great win against the last place Tulsa Oilers, Friday, the Missouri Mavericks traveled to Texas to play the Allen Americans.   The Allen Americans are in first place in the CHL Standing but with the Missouri Mavericks being hot as of late, this game would be a challenge for the Americans. The Mavericks found their third consecutive win with a final score of 4-0. Mathieu Corbiel played very well notching a shutout and the defense was once again unstoppable.

The Mavericks scored twice during the first period, the first coming at the 5:06 mark in the period. Sebastien Thinel scored the goal giving the Mavericks the lead. This goal was assisted by Josh Hepditch and JP Testwuide. Two minutes later, Sebastian Thinel netted another goal with assists by Kenton Miller and Andrew Courtney. Even though the Americans were able to take 10 shots, Matheiu Corbiel allowed no goals.

When the second period got underway the Mavericks had the katy perry american idol pokies Pokies lead 2-0. Before the first goal was scored, many shots were taken by both teams but Mathieu Corbeil (Missouri) and Aaron Dell (Allen) both knocked the shots down for over sixteen minutes. The Mavericks had a chance to score in the 7th minute, when Kellen Tochkin was able to shoot a penalty shot but was blocked. The Mavericks did notch one goal.  With just 13 seconds left, Kenton Miller fired home a shot for the goal. This goal was assisted by Andrew Courtney and Sebastian Thinel. Second period ended with a 3-0 lead by the Mavericks.

The third period started with Allen shooting but he failed to get one past Matheiu Corbiel. Kenton Miller was sent to the penalty box for hooking at the 6:45 mark and when he came out of the penalty box, he started firing at the net.  One shot sailed into the goal. After this fourth goal, Allen’s goaltender, Aaron Dell, was pulled and replaced by Steve Sliverthorn. Evan Vossen and Chris Doyle dropped the gloves and fought at 16:54 in the third period. This fight sent both players to the penalty box for fighting. In an attempt to gain momentum, Allen pulled their goalie with just 2:07 remaining, but did not have any luck. The game ended in a 4-0 win for the Missouri Mavericks.
