Mavericks Strike Revenge on the Mallards Winning 4-3

With 4-3 the final score in Quad City as both teams skated off the ice Tuesday,  the  Mavericks came out on top beating the Mallards. Coming off a two game losing  streak, this game was a must win and the Mavericks  found a way to do it in intense fashion.  With the win, the Mavericks  moved up to fifth place in the CHL standing staying within playoff  contention.

The first period was very lackadaisical as only one goal was  scored. That goal came 14:55 into the period when Mickey Lang found the  net hitting the bottom corner. Obi Aduba and Matt Duffy assisted on the  goal. The first period ended with the Mallards leading 1-0.

The second period was an intense-high-action period for both  teams. The Mavericks scored the first two goals with the first coming  just 8:27 into the period. The goal was scored by John Scott-Dickson and  assisted by Trevor Kell. The second goal was scored 11:47 into the  period when Andrew Courtney shot from the left corner and found the net.  Ryan Jardine and Sebastian Thinel assisted  the goal. With just 5:12  left in the period, the Mallards Bob Preece found the net after a great  pass from Mickey Lang.

The third period was very similar to the  second in the that three goals were scored. The first goal came 56 seconds into the period when Mike Stinziani shot and scored. Micky Lang  and  Mike Helleyer assisted the goal. The Mavericks tied the game just  three minutes  later when Kellen Tochkin scored after a great pass from  John Scott-Dickson.  The final game winning goal came 8:22 into the  period when John Scott-Dickson  shot and scored. Trevor Kell and Kellen  Tochkin were credited with the assist.
