See You in the Playoffs

The Mavericks have had their best season to date. With a strong line-up and a balanced mix between veterans and rookies the team has executed the game plan from the beginning. Win. (Photo: Jeremiah Griffith/KC Sports Journalism)

With the most dominating team Missouri hockey has seen in years, the Mavericks are heading to the playoffs. The Mavericks have proven their worth having their best season to date. They have a shut-down defense led by Dave Pszenczny and Henrik Ødegaard and an amazing front-line scoring 238 goals and an unstoppable goaltender in Shane Owen who’s only allowed 170 goals during the regular season.

The Mavericks clinched their first Governors’ Cup after an 8-0 victory over the St. Charles Chill and will be playing the Arizona Sun Dogs beginning April 4th at the Independence Event’s Center. The Mavs look very strong and are my heavy favorite to win this series.

Mavericks goaltender, Shane Owen has only allowed 170 goals and has only taken 15 losses in 52 games played. Shane is one of the best goalies the Mavericks have ever had and will play a huge role in the Mavericks post-game performance. (Photo: Jeremiah Griffith/KC Sports Journalism)

This is the second playoffs the IEC has hosted in 2014 as the Missouri Comets took home the final Major Indoor Soccer League championship against the Baltimore Blast. It would be epic if  the Mavericks win the Central Hockey League championship and the IEC hosts two champions. So Mavericks fans, this is to you. See you in the playoffs! Be ready for full, sweeping coverage of the playoffs…interviews, photos, radio spots and much more.
