Sporting KC vs New England Revolution

Livestrong Sporting Park is a very beautiful stadium.  The atmosphere is great and everyone is always on their feet.  During the first half of the home opener against the New England Revolution, Sporting KC did very well.  Sporting KC scored twice on fifteen shots, had ten fouls, and four blocks.  On the other half of the ball, The Revolution failed to score on six shots, had six fouls, and two blocks.  One of the blocks by Mat Reis was exceptionally good.  One player, number 26 Stephen McCarthy, received a red card at the fourteenth minute for denying a goal scoring opportunity. Graham Zusi scored his first goal this season at the 28th which made the score 1-0, then Zusi received a yellow card for excessive celebration. At the 39th minute Kei Kamara scored his first goal of the season, which made the game 2-0. The first half ended on that goal from Kamara.  To start the second half at Livestrong, Sporting KC received the ball and at the 47th  minute, Rookie of the Year, C.J Sapong scored and number 16, Seth Sinovic, assisted the goal.  This brought the score to 3-0 with 33 minutes left in the game.  Due to an injury sustained during the previous play,  the 57th minute Graham Zusi was replaced by Kei Kamara.  The Revolution also replaced number 39 Saer Sene with number 14 Diego Fagundz.  Then, in 60th minute, number 15 Jeremiah White replaced number 22 Benny Feilhaber.  In the 75th minute of the second half, Sporting KC’s goaltender Jimmy Neilson made a marvelous save that kept the Revolution from scoring. Number 55 Julio Cesar was replaced by number 32 Luke Sassano in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute goalkeeper for the Revolution Mat Reis made an amazing stop to keep the game under control. In the 85th minute, C.J Sapong broke away from the pack but failed to score.  As the second half came to an end, Sporting KC won 3-0. Sporting KC had a total of 3 goals, 24 shots total, 7 shots on target, and 13 fouls while the Revolution had no points, 11 shots total, 6 shots on target, and 10 fouls. CoachVerms said, “The team is coming together well and new guy Bobby Convoy is doing very well at his new position.” Kai Kamara said that his team has one of the best team chemistries in soccer and he is looking forward to this season with Sporting KC.
