The Missouri Mavericks were looking for their third straight road win, Thursday night, against the Bloomington Blaze. The Mavs found the 3-1 win they needed to keep their winning streak alive and they moved up to eighth place in the Central Hockey League standings.
The first period was the most lackadaisical period of the game as only one goal was scored. The goal was scored, in the 13th minute, by Bloomington’s Dan Barzczuk and was assisted by Ryan Palmer and Tysen Dowzak. Seven minutes later, the first period ended with the game in favor of the Blaze, 1-0.
The second period was much more active than the first period. Two goals were scored, both in favor of the Mavs. The equalizing first goal was scored by Andrew Courtney, in the 8th minute. Ryan Jardine and Sebastain Thinel received the assists for the goal. The lead-taking goal came in the 13th minute, after a beautiful shot by Evan Vossen. Vossen could not have scored the goal without an amazing pass from Sebastian Thinel. The second period ended, seven minutes later, with the lead in favor of the Missouri Mavericks, 2-1.
The third period was the game-clinching period for the Mavericks. Only one goal was scored and that was by the Mavericks, thus leading to the 3-1 win. The goal was scored in the 4th minute after a slap-shot from Ryan Jardine flew past Blaze goalie, Dan Dunn, and hit the net for the goal. The third period concluded 16 minutes later with the Mavericks winning 3-1.
